The double-sided silk scarf “Almaty” was created by WENERA in collaboration with artist Almagul Menlibayeva for her exhibition held as part of the official opening of the Almaty Museum of Arts in autumn 2025.
The print reflects the artist’s personal vision of Almaty. The composition brings together the symbols that shape the image of the city: mountains, elements of nature, and contemporary architecture. A special place is given to the snow leopard — a recognizable archetype of Almaty. At the centre of the composition is a girl holding a sign that reads I Understand Everything, referencing the artist’s exhibition.
In this way, Almaty appears not simply as a city, but as a space of personal memory, culture, and interpretation, where familiar images take on new meanings.
