About WE • NERA

WE • NERA creates women’s clothing and accessories inspired by Central Asian nomadic culture. Contemporary cuts meet hand embroidery and woven details, while detachable elements and reversible construction allow the silhouette and way of wearing a garment to change.

Development began in late 2019, when the idea of a “new era” emerged in the creation of the name. “WE” represents teamwork and the creative people behind the brand.

WE • NERA officially launched in April 2021. The launch story and a fashion shoot featuring the brand appear in “New Era” by Harper’s Bazaar Kazakhstan.

WE • NERA was founded by designers Anna Te and Zhanar Mirzazhanova together with businesswoman Diana Baibulova.

Anna and Zhanar met in 2015 at a young designers’ competition. Anna won the competition, while Zhanar served on the jury. Their friendship developed into a creative partnership. Diana joined the project in March 2020, supporting the creation of the brand.

WE • NERA uses natural fibres and blended fabrics, selected to suit each garment’s construction, use and care requirements. Main fabric, lining and trim compositions are listed on each product page.

Embroidery, woven details and signature tassels made by traditional craftswomen in Central Asia complement the garment construction.

Raw edges are intentional features in selected designs, adding texture while the interior seams are carefully finished. Reversible vests have bound seams, allowing them to be worn on either side.

Trousers with a detachable skirt can be worn with or without the additional layer. Snap-fastened panels change the shape of trousers and culottes, while lacing and ties adjust the fit. Selected reversible vests also have pockets accessible from both sides.

The Almagul Menlibayeva collection brings the artist’s original work to scarves, twillies and sleep masks through printed designs.

The collaboration with The Review, a store with locations in Almaty and Bishkek, features cotton hoodie and shorts sets.
